Devin Tuel is a classically trained singer and ballerina from Newburgh, New York. Together with multi instrumentalist Stephen Harms decided to go for her true love; pop music with a longing for the past. They traveled to Alex Hall's studio in Chicago.
Reliable Recorders included allbums by JD McPherson, Pokey LaFarge and The Cactus Blossoms. In that inspiring, vintage-equipped analog studio, she made her latest album Happier Now. If you listen to Native Harrow it seems as if the songs were made in the 60's or 70's. A kind of instrumental warm blanket laid over you with enchanting and sultry vocals. At times this duo reminds you of Natalie Merchant and sometimes it looks a bit like Mazzy Star. The intense vocals occasionally remind you of Joni Mitchell.
