Somewhere in the nineties a very strange bunch of clowns came on stage. Insane Clown Posse did exactly what their name expected, dressed as evil clowns weird raps with a crazy edge. They call it horrorcore themselves, and no letter has been lied to about that. During their shows they also sprayed liters of Faygo Coke into the audience. In America they soon had a large group of fans, called Juggalos and Juggalettes. In the Netherlands the stories of their shows only washed ashore around 1997, when clip of 'Halls of Illusions' was frequently on TV. Not only hip-hop fans became fans, but Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope also sprayed Dynamo Open Air 1998 with coke, for example. They also worked with Slash van Guns 'n Roses, Snoop Dogg, Steve Jones from Sex Pistols and Ol' Dirty Bastard. So it's really not just crazy what they bring. Raincoat on!
The combination with Dope D.O.D. seems weird, but the dark hip hop and aggressive beats of Dope D.O.D. fit in perfectly with the horror score of ICP. The Groningen hip hop crew was invited by the Americans themselves to join them on this European tour. Because Dope D.O.D. seems to be better known abroad than in the Netherlands. And that's completely unjustified, so it's high time to change that.
