Willem de Bruin - Spuug van God

Willem de Bruin - Spuug van God

A chameleon changes color but is still a chameleon. Willem also comes in different colors. But nobody knows who Willem is. Not even Willem.

Willem de Bruin confronts us with the question of what it means to grow up as a boy of color in a traditional Dutch village in the polder. He falls apart into different identities, which he cannot get together. There are many versions of Willem and he is used to adapting to the situation. For each company, he filters out a piece of Willem or adds elements. His father taught him to smile at the world. To keep inside what's inside. Adapting, Willem is an expert at that.

Willem de Bruin (1985) is a musician and actor and is known for, among other things, The Opposites. He released his highly acclaimed solo album 'Man in Nood' in 2018 and made his feature film debut in Catacombe that same year. He is now making his first theater performance Spiug van God at Likeminds.
