EFFENAAR ' T WASVEN: POOR MAN RICHIE

EFFENAAR ' T WASVEN: POOR MAN RICHIE

Due to the again stricter measures, this edition of Effenaar 't Wasven unfortunately cannot take place. Wasven is not allowed to program live music on their terrace anymore. Ticket buyers will be informed personally and will of course get a refund.

Effenaar and ’t Wasven traditionally join forces this summer, and just like last year, we will do this on the cozy terrace of Groendomein ’t Wasven. You can come and have a drink on five Thursdays in July, August and September. Effenaar provides the musical accompaniment and ’t Wasven provides a nice snack board and fresh drinks. And all of this framed by the unique Effenaar 't Wasven summer feeling.

Program 2021:
July 15: Poor Man Richie - cancelled
July 29: Abee - cancelled
August 12: Bai Kamara Jr.- cancelled
August 26: Kymara
September 9: Mercy John

Would you like to visit the summer terrace of Effenaar 't Wasven? Reserve a table for € 15.50 per person. A minimum of two and a maximum of four people can sit at a table, so we keep a sufficient overview and distance. Depending on the number of people, each table is provided with a delicious borrelpank (vegetarian or dietary requirements please indicate in comments) and of course a beautiful concert by an artist or small band.

Poor Man Richie is the new project of Derrick van Schie and Niels Verweij. In the early 2000s, these gentlemen were part of the Tilburg rock band Wealthy Beggar, with whom they played more than 300 shows, including at Lowlands and Pinkpop. Not the least musicians! About twenty years have passed since their first collaboration, but there is no lack of motivation and ambition for a next musical project. The result is the album 'Your Mind Is Like Mine'. The starting point of this album is clear: Blue-Eyed soul as it was made in the late seventies, early eighties. But with influences from rock, psychedelica and americana, side paths are also regularly taken. In terms of references you can think of Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, or more current Young Gun Silver Fox and Parcels, but we also definitely hear hints of Jonathan Wilson, Wilco and Radiohead. Enjoy!
